Could you be a 10:10 community champion?

Climate change 21st century challenge
Building real-world 10:10 communities is a top priority

Building real-world 10:10 communities is a top priority

The Guardian Newspaper and Franny Armstrong, through the Guardian 10:10 campaign, challenge organisations and individuals to cut their carbon footprint by 10%.

The next step for the campaign is to host a series of roadshows to find the nation’s 10:10 community champions, based on the belief that tackling climate change is about working together.

"Building real-world 10:10 communities is a top priority," writes the 10:10 team. These community champions will then spread the carbon reduction message in their own neighbourhoods.

Hoping to get the ball rolling, 10:10 will host a series of community roadshows at which every participant will be given:

1. a community resource pack covering top tips on organising events
2. information on how the campaign is going so far
3. advice on how to speak to the press
4. inspiring stories from other 10:10ers
5. face-to-face introductions with 10:10 members in order to build a connected community working together

Take action

10:10 hopes the road shows will inspire attendees to host similar events in their towns, schools, universities and offices.

The shows will be hosted in Bristol, London and Manchester initially, then in Scotland, Wales and other UK locations from the New Year.
