A new report from the US has suggested that basic household changes could have a massive impact on reducing carbon emissions.
According to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, simple adjustments, such as upgrading heating systems or drying washing on the line, could make all the difference in the fight against climate change.
What basic changes have you made, or are you planning to make, to your lifestyle to make it more eco-friendly? How have you coped with these changes? Have you any simple but effective eco-recommendations?

This report is great news- though i'm not sure it's saying anything new- but good to hear regardless.
I'm already trying to cut down on my household emissions in basic ways like being more aware about leaving lights on, not leaving things on standby and not putting the heating on unless its really necessary. I've always dried my washing on the line as I've heard how ridiculously inefficient tumble dryers are!
Yes we take similar steps - just little things. It is difficult not to use the tumble dryer when living in a flat. A clothes airer hanging about is not attractive. Of course energy and emissions would be saved in a big way if everyone decided to have a shower on alternate days and not wash their hair every day.
