Celebrity relay team ready for epic ride
Big Brother's Davina McCall will join six other celebrities in the Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride
Quick-witted Big Brother presenter Davina McCall will be hoping she is just as quick in the saddle as she sets off on a 1,000 mile charity bike ride for Sport Relief.
Mother-of-three Davina has been enlisted by Little Britain's David Walliams to lend her pedalling power to a seven-strong team that will take turns to ride uninterrupted stints from John O'Groats to Lands End in just 80 hours.
She will be joined along the way by comedians Russell Howard, Jimmy Carr and Miranda Hart as well as Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton and television presenter Patrick Kielty.
The BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride will begin at the northernmost tip of Scotland later this month, with the relay team taking it in turns to complete each leg of the epic journey.
Walliams, who previously swam the English Channel for Sport Relief in 2006, will be leading the attempt, and enlisted the others.
The Little Britain star, who last month became engaged to catwalk model Lara Stone, said: "It's a phenomenal undertaking and going to be really tough but we're all training hard to make sure we all get to Land's End and hopefully raise a million pounds for Sport Relief.
"I've seen what money raised through Sport Relief can do and it really does make a difference. It will be this keeping me going through the tough journey ahead."
